"WOW don't waste your time in this place. You are better off working a Mcdonald's."
"I worked there for enough time to understand I made a mistake. It is a joke and fell bad for the residents. You know it is a bad place to work when the cooks leave as well as the workers. So there are 800 nationwide? Run from this and don't look back."
"I'm with almost everyone else here i would never tell anyone 2 work here or move your family in this place and manager only cares about money! They never have enough staff managers don't care will not help the shut doors in residents faces leave them in dirty diapers cause they are to good to do any of that.. if u have morals and care about your job this isn't the place for u! They need to be shut down! Worse place i have ever worked.."
"DEPENDS ON WHICH COMMUNITY YOU GO TO. YOU HAVE TO CHECK OUT AND VISIT CONSTANTLY. HAVE CLOSE CONTACT WITH STAFF MAKES A DIFFERENCE."
"Great people, lots of support."
"While Brookdale is a large established company, its processes and technology are not as current as expected. There is little evidence of long term planning and associates are not valued."
"If you are an ethical person you do not want to work at this company. You are taught to sell a high standard of care but the residents do not receive what they are promised. They try to keep their sales department in the dark so that they don’t realize how things are really run. Lots of secrets and deceit. There is no loyalty. You are expected to be available to work 24-7 but only on their terms, not to help you. They have no respect for you, you’re treated like a number, not a person."
"For-profit not people. No soap no linens no towels. Perennially short-staffed. Managers treat workers like criminals. No thanks or support just write-ups. Stressed environment."
"I worked for Brookdale for over two years. They had two CEOs and the pressure of their stock not preforming was felt by every employee. In the 2 years I worked for the company I had 9 different supervisors. And was the longest tenured manager in one community at 3 months."
"I am a current caregiver. We work hard everyday. We had a wonderful HWD that was just fired by Corporate. Its a shane she was. She supported us, loved the residents and families and was attempting to make this a homelike environment where we all looked forward to coming to work. We are paid just above min wage and could make more at Mcdonalds. Her passion was contagious. Rumor has it that she was a liability. How is she a liability? Because she cared to much? The new ED Is toxic. Mgmt turn over is crazy. The new activities does not train us on dementia. The now fired hwd a.d current rcc did the training. Rumor on the floor is majority of caregivers are looking for new jobs because they let the hwd go. She was the best. The ratings have decreased since hwd was let go. If she was still here, i would rate much higher."
