Relias Learning And The National Association For Home Care & Hospice Announce Strategic Partnership

Partnership addresses key training and development needs for the growing home care and hospice industry.

Cary, NC (PRWEB) - Relias Learning, the leader in online training and compliance solutions for the healthcare market, and the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC), a nonprofit organization that represents the nation’s 35,000 home care and hospice organizations, today announced a strategic partnership to offer a wide range of online training and education solutions for the home care and hospice community.

NAHC Chairman Denise Schrader announced that NAHC will continue to provide and expand its educational components, but will meet its ambitious initiative to find and train thousands of employees who provide quality home care and hospice services with help from Relias Learning through Home Care University, a division of NAHC's Foundation for Hospice and Homecare. “We intend to help solve what the Bureau of Labor Statistics sees as the most critical employment need the nation faces in the near future--highly skilled and caring, in-home nurses, aides and therapists,” said Ms. Schrader.

“As the recognized leader of online learning for in-home based caregivers, we are thrilled to be partnering with NAHC, the nation's leading long-term care provider organization, to make sure that every home care and hospice worker present and future and those who employ them have the benefit of high quality training. Together, we will meet this need—the growing number of home care and hospice clients made up by the graying of the 78 million baby boom generation,” said Eric Masters, Vice President of Marketing at Relias.

“NAHC was founded in 1982 in large part to provide high quality education to caregivers of Americans who are so sick they cannot leave home without assistance. Since then, we have seen the number of home care and hospice patients yearly served increase from less than a million to more than 14 million. The increase in part relates to demographics and also to the success of NAHC-sponsored legislative and legal victories expanding access for home care and hospice. The number of infirm, disabled and dying persons needing help to remain independent at home is projected to double in the next 20 years. We will need more trained home care and hospice workers to meet their needs. We are proud to join with Relias to meet the needs both of current and future home care personnel and to guarantee the highest quality care is delivered,” said Val J. Halamandaris, President of NAHC.

Through the new partnership, Relias and NAHC will offer training courses and solutions through Home Care University (http://www.homecareuniversity.com). NAHC members will be eligible for exclusive discounts on Relias products, including their industry-leading learning management system and home health training solutions (http://www.reliaslearning.com/nahc).

Home Care University offers accreditation for agencies that do not participate in Medicare or Medicaid and certification for home care executives (CHCE). NAHC and Relias will assist Home Care University in providing expanded educational offerings and certifications focused on learner engagement and in driving innovations that identify best-quality practices within the home care and hospice industry.

Through the new partnership between Relias and NAHC, NAHC members will be eligible for executive discounts on Relias products, including the industry leading management system and home health training solutions.
