Liverpool FC owners John Henry, Mike Gordon and Tom Werner were at Melwood today as Jurgen Klopp and his players prepared for the Sunday clash with Southampton.

The three figureheads of Fenway Sports Group joined their new manager at the West Derby training base this week as part of their ongoing visit to Merseyside.

All three were present in the directors’ box at Anfield on Thursday night as Liverpool recorded their third successive 1-1 draws in the Europa League group.

Klopp was present at Melwood alongside his number two Zeljko Buvac and coach Pep Ljinders while the players involved included youngsters Joao Teixeira, Pedro Chirivella and Cameron Brannagan and others who had played either no part or only a substitute’s role against Rubin Kazan such as Roberto Firmino.

Gordon, seen as FSG’s key Liverpool man yet rarely spotted, was the man who broke the news to Brendan Rodgers that he had lost his job as Liverpool manager earlier this month.
